A History of Microsoft Windows, an operating system
This is a very educational video. It tells the evolution of Windows from Windows 1 to Windows 10. I am unsure when this video was made; it does not discuss Windows 11. The first version of Windows that I remember using was Windows 3.1. It was MS-DOS, then Windows 3.1.
I did a Google search on how many PCs run Windows, and the results showed that about 1.4 billion PCs were running Windows worldwide. The search also returned the following:
For desktop computers and laptops, Microsoft Windows has 73%, followed by Apple's macOS at 15%, desktop Linux at 4.5%, then Google's ChromeOS at 2.25%). The remaining 4.5% is an unknown category (third-most popular and thought to also be Linux, otherwise fourth-most popular).
